Eye am a Bad Girl

are you a bad girl too?
Happiness is

Today I'm going to show you the love of my life ... no not a significant other. I'm talking about something that hits all those right spots ... uh-hah ... yes, eye shadow

The palette I will be showcasing today is Bad Girl from Sleek's I-Divine Palette Collections (I have 3 palettes from Sleek altogether ... well I did). The original ... which I messed up (I'll talk about that another time), the Bohemian Palette (which was a limited edition) and Bad Girl.

Sotoday, I'm going to delve deep into the sultry waters of this sumptuous, seductive and oh so sexy (yes I said it) palette for your viewing pleasure. It's all about the Bad Girl, Sleek's Bad Girl Palette.

Now, if you follow Sleek's product releases you'd know that at the time of Bad Girl's Birth there was also the Good Girl palette. Yours truly (i.e. me) didn't really fancy Good Girl, sure she was pretty but, I had already purchased a super bright red eye-shadow from Stargazer which I played around with a lot, but didn't really wear. Besides, I've always loved deep dark shades, to me they're just so magical, captivating and full of mystique. So after seeing a few swatches pop up, I just could not resist any longer and I'm so glad I did ...

Anyway, I have not finished boring you yet ... My eyes are brown, a cool dark brown. I'm actually being literal here, in the undertone/makeup/colour theory spectrum my eyes are 'cool brown'. This means that naviesdark purplesgolden brownsbrownsdeep greens and even some paler blues (in theory) will compliment and or intensify my eye colour. The Bad Girl palette has all of the deepest, most pigmented and beautiful colours a cool brown eyed girl could wish for so, if you have eyes like mine give this palette a try! (did I just rhyme then?). In fact this palette is perfect for any eye colour or skin tone (in my own opinion). Case and point if you have light blue eyes deep navy will make your eyes stand out brighter, green eyes will be intensified with purple and so on.

I think that this palette is the ultimate smoky eye, seductive palette of any girls dream. Don't believe me well take a look at this ...

Sleek Makeup I Divine Mineral Based Eyeshadow Palette in 596 Bad Girl ... I think its evident which shades I use.
Shade Names from Top Left to Right : Innocence, Gullible. Blade, Gun Metal, Underground and Noir.
Shade Names from Bottom Left to Right: Intoxicated, Envy, Obnoxious, Abyss, Twilight and Rebel.
Still unsure ... well now some swatches ...

Note: Sleek Bad Girl Palette has a mixture of pearl/satin finish and semi-matte shades. I believe that most of all the eye shadows in the palette do contain some form of shimmer but, some shades show it more than others. The only true matte shade in the palette is Rebel, although other shadows do have a semi-matte texture or finish to them. Second Note: I'm no expert - I applied a swatch of each eye shadow shade on my lid using my fingertips - the application was sheer and I didn't use any primer to intensify the colour in order to get a true representation of what the colours look like on my natural eyelid. I hope you find this helpful. Now onto the swatches ...
A frosty white shade. A good highlighter shade - but not something I would apply to my entire lid for a look. Not my favourite shadow out of the bunch. Plus I found that out of all the eye shadows in the palette this one crumbles easily.
A frosty cream shade. Another good inner eye highlighting shade - again not something I would use to cover my entire lid and not a favourite colour of mine. There is a slight difference between Gullible and Innocence on my  skin but, they are essentially the same - frosty.
A very shimmery silver. Personally I'd opt to use Blade as my inner highlight rather than Innocence or Gullible. I think it does a good job at making the eyes stand out - so I would use it on my lid (in a sheer application) or as an inner eye highlighter.
Similar to Blade but Gun Metal has a vibrant silver and dark grey/bordering on black mix. This is a good shade for an alternative smoky eye and I would feel comfortable using it on my whole lid.
Underground is a smoky grey black. Like all the shades in Sleek Bad Girl Palette it contains shimmer however, Underground does not have as much as others - so its perfect for a subdued smoky eye/smudgy rocker eye look. Its quite soft focused and not a true black so I would use this on the lid more than as a crease colour.
Noir is a smoky black - yet its not the blackest eye shadow I have in my collection by sleek but, its definitely black enough and pigmented enough to make an impact. When used alone on the lid or as a crease shade, Noir will add depth and definition to your eye shadow applications/looks.
Intoxicated is a shimmery dark green shade. I think its a bit unique and is a interesting colour to create different looks with.
Envy is a dark greenish black grey shade. Similar compilation to Underground - a mixture of shades with little shimmer. I like it.
My favourite shade. Its a somewhat mid toned navy blue shade that is gorgeous. Any time I even attempt a look with Sleek Bad Girl Palette Obnoxious is always involved. If sleek did single shadows I can imagine me buying this shade again and again ... yes its love.
Another love of mine ... its similar to Obnoxious but Abyss is less bright and more matte. Again this shade is utterly beautiful and I'm sure any and everyone can wear this shade (no matter eye colour, skin shade etc.).
Twilight is a blackened purple that for me is both classy and grubby. I think it works well on its own or blended with other shades to give a unique twist on any look.
A real beautiful colour, it reminds me of Ellis Faas Creamy Eyes Bordeaux Red  (E114) when it is applied sheerly (like in the picture above). Rebel can be applied sheerly or built up to its true deep dark purple form (see in the pan). Its a great shadow to play around with for any look you desire.

well not the end really, just the end of the swatches :o)

I admit it. Some of the lighter shades are a real turn off. I mean you can see it for yourself .. alternatively I'm sure they'll look sublime on lighter skin but, on me let me hear you say it - 'Talcum Powder'. I'm sure I could work them into a 60s eye look but I'm not planning to do anything like that any day soon ... but like I've said they're okay inner eye corner highlighters - so I'm just nit picking. Honestly I do not use this palette much - because I really do like creamy eye products for everyday easy wear and application + I forget about most of my eye shadow products (lip girl) - but I do love it and I think its one of Sleek's better eye palette that is universally wearable for different eye colours and shades so I thought it was worth posting about.
