Chanel Ombres Contraste Duo Eye Shadow in 'Sable-Émouvant' (#37)

This is the first Chanel eye shadow duo I have tried and I love it. I've been wearing it a lot for work the last couple of weeks or so. :) It's released as part of the 2012 Summertime de Chanel Collection. (You can view my picks from the collection HERE if you're interested. I also decided to buy the Soleil Tan de Chanel in 'Sable Rose' at the last minute which was not featured in 'my picks' post. I may do a review of this if I get the chance).

Colours
Chanel Ombres Contraste Duo in 'Sable-Émouvant' is a scintillating natural beige and intense brown duo with excellent colour pay-off. A perfect pairing you just can't go wrong with! They are slightly on the warmer side, but definitely not so much that makes me uncomfortable to wear it at all (I'm used to neutral and cooler-toned eye shadows). Both shades have the beautiful Chanel twinkling shimmers that add a level of sophistication and interest. The brown shade has some subtle plum and gold shimmers to it. Gorgeous!

Texture and Wear

Excellent powder texture. It's so easy to apply and wear especially for work when I'm in a rush and it looks effortlessly beautiful. I find the shadows stay put from the morning I put it on til I take them off before bed time without noticeable fading or creasing on my eye lids which are neither oily or dry and this is without the use of an eye primer. I do apply a very thin layer of foundation on my eye lids and very lightly set them with powder before applying the eye shadows.

Packaging

The duo comes in the signature black lacquer compact with the interlocking 'C's which is the Chanel logo in white on top of the lid. The compact is fairly lightweight making it convenient to carry around. It comes with a handy mirror for on-the-go application. A sponge tip applicator (which is OK if you're desperate and don't have other better tools to use for patting on the eye shadow to the eye lid, but the sponge material does tend to absorb and waste a lot of product) and a little brush (OK for blending) are also included. Of course, like most luxury brands, the compact comes with a black velvet pouch (with the Chanel logo on it) that can help protect the compact in your hand bag. (I personally don't use these pouches as they do tend to attract lint, dust and dirt, etc in my handbag though!)

Final Words
I've swatched the other Chanel eye shadow duos in their permanent line before in store and they haven't really grabbed me as much as 'Sable-Émouvant' has. It's become one of my neutral eyeshadow staples. Highly recommend! ^_^
